Bruno Alves

Professor Bruno Alves is a 5th degree Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under the legendary Julio Cesar Pereira, founder of GFTEAM. Hailing from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Bruno brings over 30 years of technical expertise and leadership to the mats, having dedicated his life to the instruction and development of Jiu-Jitsu for both adults and youth.

A veteran of the sport and a cornerstone of GFTEAM—an internationally respected top-10 team with affiliates around the globe—Professor Bruno is known for his refined teaching methodology, deep technical knowledge, and ability to build champions on and off the mat.

As a high-level competitor, Bruno has tested his skills against the best in the world, earning top-three finishes at some of the sport’s most prestigious events, including the Brazilian Nationals and IBJJF Master Worlds. Today, he continues to lead with passion, mentoring the next generation of athletes and instructors with the same intensity and dedication that fueled his own competitive career.
